Arsenal has officially completed the recruitment of the noni Madueke winger from Chelsea under a 5 -year contract.
Madueke, 23, was allowed by Chelsea to conduct medical examination with Arsenal last week and now he became the Gunners' fourth rookie in the summer transfer window this year. At the Emirates Stadium, Madueke will wear the number 20.
Arsenal and Chelsea have reached an agreement on the initial fee of 48.5 million pounds, while the personal terms of the British player have also been agreed before. Madueke's contract will last until 2030.
However, Madueke will not participate in the upcoming Asian tour of Arsenal – where they will face AC Milan and Newcastle in Singapore, as well as meet Tottenham in Hong Kong. The reason is that he has just attended the FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea in the US, where he participated in 5 matches even though he was not on the list of the finals on Sunday.
Madueke said: “I talked to Dec (Declan Rice), Myles (Lewis-Skelly), Bukayo (Saka), even Jurrien (Timber), and all said great things about the club, culture here, warmth and feeling like a real family. I am really happy to be part of the Arsenal family.
I am very happy and eager to start work. Now I will rest for a short time, but I am anxious, meeting my teammates and starting to practice. I even told my friends that walking around here made me not want to rest at all. But I know I need to rest for my body to recover. When I return, I will be ready to explode. “
Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 for a fee of £ 28.5 million. He played 92 times for the Blues, scored 20 goals and had 9 assists. In particular, in the 2024/25 season, Madueke has 11 goals and 6 assists, including a hat-trick against Wolves in the second round.
Before going to the Netherlands, Madueke had grown up from the Academy of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur. He joined PSV in 2018 and made his first match in January 2020. In the Dutch club shirt, Madueke played 80 times, scored 20 goals and had 13 assists, before moving to Chelsea.
Madueke is the second player to arrive Arsenal from Chelsea this summer, after goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who joined for a fee of 5 million pounds earlier the month. Earlier, Arsenal also recruited two midfielders, Christian Norgaard from Brentford and Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
