Arsenal star, Takehiro Tomiyasu, broke up with the team after the two sides agreed to terminate the contract before the deadline. This made the Gunners' fans extremely regretful.
Tomiyasu, 26, still has a year in the current contract with Arsenal, with an additional 12 -month extension option. However, according to the BBC, Arsenal and the Japanese defender have reached a contract release agreement, ending his 4 -year -old journey full of injuries at the Emirates Stadium.
Since joining Arsenal from Bologna in 2021 for a fee of 20 million pounds, Tomiyasu has faced 8 different injuries. He only played the yard for exactly 6 minutes in the past season, due to knee damage and had to quit playing up to 5 months after the surgery in February. Earlier, Tomiyasu also missed the early stages of the 2023/24 season because of another knee injury that needs surgery.
Information Tomiyasu left made Arsenal fans extremely regretful, because everyone understood his great potential – a talented but unlucky player. A fans wrote on social networks: “Ah … I love him. Another shared: “Sad … can only wish him all the best in the upcoming journey”.
Another comment: “Wishing you all the best. The injury has robbed an excellent player from us.” Another fans regret: “We will miss you. Good luck, Tomi”. And another fan exclaimed: “My God … the loss is too big …”.
During 4 years of Arsenal, Tomiyasu could only play a total of 84 matches because of constant physical problems. He scored 2 goals and had 6 assists for the London Gunners.
After liquidating the contract with Tomiyasu, Arsenal started looking for additional defense. One of the goals that the Gunners are targeting is Valencia's center -back Cristhian Mosquera.
In addition to Tomiyasu, Arsenal also broke up with left -back Kieran Tiernney (to Celtic). The defense of the Emirates Stadium team became even more fragile when even Oleksandr Zinchenko could leave the team this summer.
