Chelsea re-signed a contract with Ishe Samuels-Smith, just 33 days after letting him join Strasbourg, the “sister” team owned by Blueco Group, headed by Todd Boehly. After that, they borrowed him to Swansea City on the last day of the transfer.
Samuels-Smith once joined Chelsea from Everton in 2023 for a fee of 4 million pounds but there was no match for the first team.
He moved to Strasbourg on July 30 and was named on the list of reservations in two matches: against Metz at Ligue 1 and against Brondby at the Conference League.
Later, Chelsea and Strasbourg announced that the Blues acquired Samuels-Smith on September 2, one day after the transfer window closed. Then immediately, this player was lent to Swansea. The agreement was completed late on Monday night thanks to “Deal Sheet”, special papers allow clubs to have two more hours to complete the transfer procedure.
Earlier, Chelsea also signed a contract with Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg and lent it to the French club. In addition, goalkeeper Mike Penders and young talent Kendry Paez also joined in loan.
In the opposite direction, Ben Chilwell and Mathis Amougou have completely shifted to Strasbourg, of which Chilwell completed on the last day of the transfer period.
Chelsea has applied the same rotation policy last season, when Andrey Santos, DJorde Petrovic and Caleb Wiley have time to play in Strasbourg.
Strasbourg also announced that after Samuels-Smith left the team: “We announced the breakup of Ishe Samuels-Smith, who would return to Chelsea. The whole club thanked Ishe for the dedication during the time here and wish him success in the rest of his career.”
