According to The Telegraph, Chelsea decided not to compete with Liverpool in the deal of defender Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace.
Coach Enzo Maresca had suffered heavy losses before the Premier League of the new season started next week when Levi Colwill was seriously injured, he had to sit out for most of the season's time due to an anterior ligament injury.
Speaking after Chelsea's 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen at Stamford Bridge, Maresca said Chelsea could join the transfer market to search for a new center-back because Colwill would be absent for a long time.

Marc Guhi has attracted attention from Liverpool and Newcastle United this summer, but according to The Telegraph, returning to Chelsea is not a viable option because the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 champion is prioritizing other transfer goals.
The 25 -year -old growing up from the Chelsea Academy, but only 2 appearances for the first team before joining Palace for 18 million pounds 4 years ago. Guehi will expire with the London team next summer.
Speaking before the British Super Cup match against Liverpool, Palace's coach, Oliver Glasner admitted that Guehi would be the final decision of his future.
