According to The Athletic, Chelsea will sign a contract with Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa if they cannot complete the transfer of Xavi Simons.
The Blues agreed on personal terms with RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons, and the Dutch player was said to be very much wanted to move to London. But Chelsea and RB Leipzig have not yet been able to agree on the transfer fee, while Man City is said to have joined the race to win this player.
RB Leipzig warned Chelsea that they would not sell their stars below the price of 70 million euros (£ 60.4 million). Simons may stay in Leipzig if Chelsea does not want to meet the Bundesliga representative.

If Chelsea failed in an attempt to recruit Simons, the Blues could decide to transfer attention to Villa's star Morgan Rogers. According to The Athletic, Rogers were highly appreciated by the BLD of the Stamford Bridge.
Aston Villa costs £ 100 million for Rogers, higher than Simons. The Sun newspaper reported in July that Chelsea turned Rogers into a top target in the summer transfer, when Aston Villa required more than £ 80 million for his star.
Rogers shone for the Aston Villa in the Premier League last season, scored 8 goals and provided 11 assists in 37 matches. The 23 -year -old also scored 4 goals and had 4 assists in 12 matches in the Champions League in the 2024/25 season.
Rogers often play in the attacking midfielder, but can also play in the right winger or left winger. Roberto Di Matteo believes that Rogers could make a real difference at Chelsea if he joined this summer.
