Fenerbahce officially announced the contract to borrow striker Jhon Duran, just a few months after the player left Aston Villa to move to Al Nassr at the Saudi Arabia (Saudi Pro League).
In the newspaper posted on the club's website, Fenerbahce said the 21 -year -old striker would play a team on a loan in a season from Al Nassr – a team headed by Cristiano Ronaldo, which Duran just joined in January.
In the brief message, Fenerbahce expressed his hope that the Colombian striker will have a “a successful season” in the traditional yellow and yellow striped shirt of the team.
Duran is not the first and only player to leave Saudi Arabia after only a few months of attachment. The midfielder currently wears Ajax – Jordan Henderson – is another notable example.
Duran scored 12 goals in 18 matches for Al Nassr, thereby reaching 50 goals in his career. But he decided to start a new chapter and now have the opportunity to be led by coach Jose Mourinho.
Duran once impressed when it was very professional in Envigado – a Club of Colombia. He played his first professional match when he was only 15 years old, and scored the first goal after only 6 months. Since then, Duran has fought in MLS, Premier League, Saudi Arabia and now Türkiye – showing the early signs of a talented “nomad” striker.
In Fenerbahce, Duran will meet with new teammates and may have the opportunity to return to the Champions League playground – where he used to play outstanding in the Aston Villa shirt last year – if the Turkish team overcame the qualifying round.
If performed well, Duran can completely return to Europe for a long time. On the contrary, this could be just a temporary turning point before he continued to play in Saudi Pro League since 2026.
With Fenerbahce, Duran is their first rookie in the summer transfer window 2025. Previously, this team activated the bought term with midfielder Sofian Amrabat, who was borrowed from Fiorentina last year.
