Arsenal continues to show great ambition in the summer transfer window when successfully recruiting Brentford captain Christian Norgaard.

The Danish midfielder has been in 6 years with Brentford, a pillar in the journey to bring the West London team to promote the Premier League in 2021 and maintain the position at the harshest tournament on the planet. Last season, Norgaard came to the field to 34 matches, bringing the total number of “bees” to the number 196, a clear evidence for his influence and stability.
Speaking on the new contract, coach Mikel Arteta could not hide the excitement: “We are delighted to welcome Christian to Arsenal. He is an experienced Premier League national player, possessing leaders and strong personality, extremely important factors for our collective.”
Arteta also appreciated the expertise of the former captain Brentford: “Christian is a strong midfielder, with sharp tactical thinking and diverse play. Bodybuilding, intelligence and the spirit of his competition will bring significant balance and depth to the squad. We are looking forward to working with him in the next chapter of his career.”
Norgaard will wear the number 16 at Arsenal, the number of shirts used to be attached to personality names like Aaron Ramsey or Rob Holding. This is the third rookie that Arsenal has recruited this summer, after goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
Not stopping there, “Gunners” are moving very close to owning striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP. At the same time, the club still actively negotiated with Crystal Palace and Chelsea to get the service of Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke.
