World No. 3 player Iga Swiatek has first crowned Cincinnati Open, after surpassing the No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini with a score of 7-5 and 6-4.
Earlier, Swiatek has never passed the semi -finals in 6 times in the tournament. She stopped in the semi -finals for two consecutive years, lost to Coco Gauff (Champion 2023) and Aryna Sabalenka (Champion 2024).
“This has a great significance to me,” Swiatek said. “This year I really want this title. I am very happy. It is great to be able to mark an additional tournament that I have never won. I have friends here. This is a quite comfortable tournament before New York.”
Swiatek won 6 times against Paolini, only losing 1 set.
In the first set, Paolini started strongly 3-0, but Swiatek rained up to win immediately to lead 5-3. Although Paolini equalized 5-5, Swiatek still closed set 1 after 56 minutes.
Set Set 2, the 8th ACE helps Swiatek lead 5-3. Paolini broke the serve twice and shortened to 4-5, but Swiatek still maintained the advantage to end the match, winning the 24th single title in his career.
Swiatek admitted: “This season is not easy. I still have many points to improve. It is difficult to win when everyone expects you.” She made 7 double mistakes compared to 2 Paolini, but in return to record 9 ACEs, while the opponent did not have any ACE.
Paolini commented: “When the ball exchange, I feel quite good. But the serve is different. Whenever she needs ace, she can do it.”

Cincinnati Open is considered a launch tournament for the US Open, the event will start on Sunday in New York. In the last two years, both men and women's singles in Cincinnati were crowned at the last Grand Slam of the year.
