After the departure of the main striker Lucao, who had just won the title of V.League scorer 2024/25 – who joined Viettel, the port team quickly filled the gap with experienced and quality faces, including the return of MPande.
The MPande striker had a long time of impressive competition in Hai Phong shirt, considered a symbol of bloody and effective play that coach Chu Dinh Nghiem always pursued. Although last season he switched to Nam Dinh and scored 6 goals, but the mark he left in the V.League championship of the Southern team was quite blurred. At the end of the 2024/25 season, MPande decided to break up with Nam Dinh and returned to the “old roof” in Hai Phong with the expectation that he would find the peak performance.
Not stopping there, Hai Phong continued to add the middle line by recruiting midfielder Luiz from Thanh Hoa. Luiz is one of the most prominent foreign players in V.League in the last two seasons. He plays the leader of the midfield, contributing greatly to help Thanh Hoa win the National Cup of 2023/24.
In addition to Mpande and Luiz, Hai Phong also brought back striker Joel Tagueu striker who played outstanding in Hanoi shirt in the 2023/24 season. Joel Tagueu not only possesses the ideal bodybuilding, good surfing but also has the ability to score stable goals.
His presence will help Hai Phong attack more diverse and unpredictable. Currently, Hai Phong has closed the foreign list of Mpande, Luiz, Bisco and Joel Tagueu.
