MU is quickly moving to the next transfer goal this summer, right after reaching an agreement to recruit Bryan Mbeumo.
After a very long time of “juggling” with Brentford, MU officially reached an agreement with Brentford to recruit the Cameroon striker. According to The Athletic, this deal could be up to 71 million pounds, making MBeumo the third rookie of MU this summer, after Matheus Cuha and Diego Leon.
According to sources from the British press, as soon as Mbeumo finished, the Red Devils began to preliminarily negotiate for a deal worth about £ 17 million, which was the promising young goalkeeper of Royal Antwerp, Senne Lambens.
The reason MU proved to be zealous and urgent was because Andrre Onana was injured in a hamstring, while the reserve duo Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton were not too reliable backup options.
Lampens, 23, is now one of the most formal goalkeepers in Europe. Last season in the Belgian league, he owned the most rescue phase (127), the highest salvation rate (81.4%) and more than 14.5 goals from the expected goals index.
The transfer expert Ben Jacobs said MU has been watching Lampens for a long time, even has contacted from January this year. Royal Antwerp values the Belgian goalkeeper about £ 17 million.
In an interview with the Gazet Van Antwerpen newspaper, Lampens shared his feelings when he knew he was noticed by MU: “The first time I heard the news, I thought: 'Wow'. A world -class team is watching me, that's a special thing.
Recently, MU is also said to be interested in goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez on the Aston Villa side. However, the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has denied that the possibility of this deal is about to happen.
On his YouTube channel, Romano said: “MU has not sent any offer. Source from Aston Villa also confirmed that there was no official contact from MU. It is true that MU talked to the representative of Martinez in June to find out the situation, but that's the old thing.”
Currently, there has been no direct talk between the two clubs, but MU still closely monitored the situation of Martinez, who is said to be ready to join Old Trafford if there is an appropriate offer.
