Newcastle reached an agreement to recruit Elanga from Nottingham


Newcastle and Nottingham have reached agreement on recruiting winger Anthony Elanga.

Elanga is about to dock Newcastle

Accordingly, the initial transfer fee was 52 million pounds (equivalent to 70.7 million USD), plus the bonuses are thought to be difficult to activate. But in the end, Newcastle also reached an individual agreement with Elanga for a 5 -year contract.

The 23 -year -old Swedish star will conduct a medical examination within the next 48 hours and are expected to meet with new teammates this weekend. The Athletic newspaper reported on July 3 that Newcastle was promoting the recruitment of Elanga and made a new offer worth more than £ 50 million, including bonuses.

Earlier, Nottingham refused a proposal worth £ 45 million in June. Newcastle was interested in Elanga last summer and made a proposal package including:

  • 30 million pounds pay immediately.
  • Another exchange agreement with Miguel Almron (valued at 5 million pounds, then moved to Atlanta United).
  • And two additional payments worth 5 million pounds per account.

Elanga is the bright star of Nottingham last season

Elanga joined Nottingham from MU in July 2023. Last season, he played all 38 matches in the Premier League, scored 6 goals and contributed 11 assists, helped Nottingham end in 7th place and won the right to attend the Conference League.

At the international level, Elanga has had 22 caps on Sweden since its debut at 2022 at the age of 19. His last match was 90 minutes of friendly competition against Hungary in June.
