The Wimbledon 2025 season promises to be a challenge but also full of opportunities with Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper – two young talents who are carrying great responsibility, contributing to restoring the pride of the foggy country.
Emma Raducanu (22 years old), who once shocked the world when crowned US Open 2021, is currently his number 1 female with the 38th world rankings. This year, Raducanu entered Wimbledon in a state of not being completely healthy, when she had just experienced a relapse of her back injury at the Queen's Club.
Even so, she still maintained a humble attitude and the spirit of active competition. She only sets the goal of “enjoying the experience and playing hard” instead of the pressure to get high results.
In the first round, Raducanu will face Mimi Xu (17 years old), a promising young player. If overcome, she will confront the seeds like Marketa Vondrousova or McCartney Kessler, and may be maximum difficulty in the third round when encountering the world's No. 1 in the world Aryna Sabalenka.
Jack Draper is another story. With the highest ranking in his career (No. 4 in the world), the British tennis “prince” had a successful year of competition: the Indian Wells championship, in the semi -finals of the US Open 2024, and the speed growth.
Wimbledon this year, he was chosen as the No. 4 seed. The opponent in the first round of Draper was Sebastian Baez, a player who could make it difficult on the pitch. After that, the schedule of competition hidden difficult obstacles like Marin Cilic, Alexander Bublik, Jakub Mensik. And if going deep, Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner can be maximum challenges on the journey to the Draper's final.
Tim Henman – his legend Wimbledon – also spoke to encourage Raducanu and Draper: “Just focus on preparing and playing well, do not care about what outside. Enjoy the atmosphere of the yard.”
Raducanu and Draper are not only promising stars, they also bring great responsibility to bring sublimation to English tennis after the Andy Murray era. In particular, with the largest number of athletes from 1984 – to 23 names in the single content – Wimbledon 2025 can be the starting milestone for a new period of the British tennis identity, where these two “pearl couple” stood at the center.
