The No. 1 UK, Emma Raducanu, officially said goodbye to Wimbledon, after being unable to create a shock against the number one seed Aryna Sabalenka in the dramatic bust match at the central field.
Raducanu, 22, made the Grand Slam champion three times and also a heavy candidate for this year's championship to face countless difficulties, before accepting defeat with a score of 6-7 (6-8), 4-6.
“It is now difficult to accept this result,” Raducanu shared after the match. “This is a defeat that makes me very painful. But I really pushed Aryna – a high -class champion – to her limit, so I have the right to be proud of this performance.”
Raducanu, currently ranked 40th in the world, has played with confidence and assertiveness in most of the time of this fascinating match. She had the opportunity to win the first set of 6-5 and serve the serve, after successfully saving the seven set-point in the game before. She also missed a set-point in the tie-break series. If used, the match could be completely tilted towards her.
However, after being unable to create an early advantage, Raducanu gradually shortened her breath-despite the 4-1 lead in the second set. The long -lasting series of balls that she used to break Sabalenka's strong gameplay finally made her physical impairment, creating conditions for the number one world player to come back.
Sabalenka – who is heading to the first Wimbledon title in his career – will meet the No. 24 Belgian seeds, Elise Mertens, in the fourth round next Sunday.
“Emma played great and made me strive to the end to win,” the 27 -year -old Belarus player shared. “I had to fight for each score. I am sure that Emma will soon return to the Top 10 world.”
