Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino officially joined Al Sadd after breaking up with the Saudi Pro League team Al Ahli on Wednesday.

Roberto Firmino signed a 2 -year contract with the defending champion of the Qatar Stars League, after contributing greatly to help Al Ahli win the Champions League Elite in May at Jeddah.

“What makes me happiest is that we have worked together in the past two years.”the Brazilian striker shared his emotions in the farewell video published by Al Ahli. “The best moment is when we become Asian champions. I am really grateful for that.”

Joining Al Ahli from Liverpool, Firmino through two impressive seasons and is an indispensable factor in the journey to win the first continental title of the club. He scored 6 goals after 12 matches in the Champions League Elite, including 2 assists in the final victory over Kawasaki Frontale (Japan), the victory to make him the first player, besides two teammates Riyad Mahrez and Edouard Mendy, each continental championship in both Europe and Asia.
