Sesko chose to join Newcastle, pave the way for Isak to Liverpool

Striker Benjamin Sesko decided to join Newcastle instead of MU, according to Slovenia sources. The Athletic newspaper also reported that Newcastle sent a proposal worth 80 million euros to Leipzig, including 75 million EURO prepaid with 5 million euros.

Sesko chose to go to Newcastle instead

The star of RB Leipzig has become the focus of a stressful transfer race between the two Premier League giants, when both Newcastle and Man United determined he was the priority target this summer.

However, according to Slovenia's Delo, Newcastle itself was the team that won the race, when Sesko was said to have chosen to join coach Eddie Howe's team, overcome the fierce competition from MU to own one of the most promising young stars in Europe.

Latest, The Athletic reported Newcastle sent a proposal worth 80 million euros to Leipzig asked to buy Sesko. The contract includes 75 million euros prepaid with 5 million euros depending on conditions.

Sesko is said to have a “underground agreement” with RB Leipzig, in which the German club will not stop his way if they receive a reasonable offer. Both Newcastle and MU have negotiated with the representatives of this striker. However, MU has financial difficulties, making the deal not simple, despite they want to have a 22 -year -old player.

Latest, Slovenia media confirmed that Sesko chose Newcastle, although the official decision has not been made. MU was originally allegedly his favorite destination, but Newcastle had a great advantage thanks to the Champions League and ready to close the agreement immediately.

If Newcastle successfully bought Sesko, they could release Isak for Liverpool

Meanwhile, MU will only play in the country next season, and need more time to handle financial problems before continued negotiations. MU recruiting director, Christopher Vivell, is the leader of the Sesko pursuit, when he worked with the Slovenian striker in RB Salzburg and highly appreciated the potential of British world -class reaching.

If Sesko actually joined Newcastle, it would pave the way for Alexander Isak to leave, and it is likely to arrive at Liverpool with a record fee in the Premier League. Isak is looking forward to joining the team of coach Arne Slot, but Liverpool has just been denied the official offer worth £ 110 million – lower than £ 10 million compared to the previous proposal.

Newcastle shouted £ 150 million for the Swedish star, who scored 23 goals in the Premier League last season. The Northeastern Club also confirmed that it only sells Isak if someone is worthy, and Sesko is the ideal plan.

Coach Eddie Howe shared with The Mail: “We always try to do everything in the right way. The transfer is always complicated, and we only do what feels appropriate. I don't discuss the way of other clubs.”

The opportunity to own Isak is lit again with Liverpool

Liverpool had previously “lifted their hands on” Newcastle in the Hugo Ekitike case, when recruiting this striker from Frankfurt for £ 79 million last month. Currently, Isak is said to be pressuring to leave, and practiced at the old Club Real Sociedad after withdrawing from Newcastle's summer trip on the grounds of thigh injury.

Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, and had 16 goals after 41 appearances for the Slovenia team. He is often compared to Erling Haaland thanks to the combination of height, speed and finishing ability – the qualities that help Newcastle believe that he is the perfect replacement for Isak.

Meanwhile, MU will most likely have to return to the starting line in the search for new strikers. The collective of Amorim coach has encountered many difficulties in scoring last season, and they have expected Sesko will be the last piece for new attack.

Newcastle was worried that MU surpassed in the Sesko deal, so he turned to Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins this week, and negotiated with Brentford to recruit Younge Wissa. However, Sesko has now returned to the number one priority.

Sesko and Watkins are two names on MU's shortened list, but Villa has no intention of selling English players this summer. Meanwhile, the future of Rasmus Hojlund is still unclear, although the Danish striker insists he wants to stay at Old Trafford to compete for an official position.
