Arsenal officially recruits Martin Zubimendi

The Arsenal Club has officially announced the successful recruitment of midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, closing the transfer deal with a lot of paper.

Martin Zubimendi grew up from Real Sociedad's training furnace and had 236 appearances at the first team level. He has contributed greatly to help the Basque team to win the Spanish King Cup in the 2019/20 season (the final held in April 2021).

On the international level, Zubimendi is the Spanish player, who won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and 19 caps on the national team, the Nations League 2023 and EURO 2024. To win the midfielder's signature, Arsenal defeated the competition of Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Speaking on the launch day, Zubimendi shared: “This is a big step forward in my career. I chose Arsenal because of the team's style of play suitable for me. Arriving here, I felt that this was a big team with great aspirations. I was eager to start a new journey.”

Coach Mikel Arteta appreciated the addition and praise for Zubimendi: “Martin is a player who possesses a sharp and high -class tactical thinking for many high -level seasons. He will bring great value to Arsenal's middle line. We welcome Martin and his family to the club.”

At Arsenal, Martin Zubimendi will wear the number 36 and will start the army with the whole team at the Sobha Realty Training Center in the training phase before the season. After completing the signature in this midfield, Arsenal is said to approach Sporting's striker Viktor Gyokeres.
