Nottingham Forest has completed signing a contract with striker Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes for a fee of about £ 26 million.
“Tricky Trees” has promoted spending in the summer. Kalimuendo is the latest rookie, bringing the club's total spending to more than £ 140 million so far.
The 23 -year -old moved to Nottingham from Rennes, where he scored 18 goals and had 4 more assists in 34 appearances last season. Kalimuendo became the 7th star joining Nuno Espirito Santo's team in the summer transfer window.
On the night of the Premier League's first weekend, Nuno was disappointed in an interview with Sky Sports, confirming that despite recruiting Ange Gunn, Igor Jesus, Dan Ndoye and Jair Cuha, his team still had holes before the season.
“We are very far away, very far, compared to the right position.
“Therefore, we are all very worried when there are only 2 or 3 days before we will play in the Premier League, the most fierce tournament in the world. And we are very far away. Very far away.”
But Forest did not show signs of fatigue after the summer vacation in the opening match, when they came back to defeat Brentford 3-1 – with Ndoye scoring one of the goals.
In addition to the pitch, Forest is also performing important moves on Techmart, recruiting former young stars of Chelsea, Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich at the club's record fee of £ 37.5 million, and recruiting Man City James Mcatee with £ 30 million. However, Forest is still not satisfied, when the club of Evangelos Marinakis is targeting another star of City, Rico Lewis.
Forest can also bring another star in the form of borrowed, Douglas Luiz of Juventus, if the midfielder wants to return to the Premier League after leaving the old Aston Villa club in 2024.
After signing a contract with Kalimuendo, Forest's football manager, Ross Wilson, praised the late but effective transfer of the club.
“This is a few busy days for us – the culmination of many difficult jobs from our team for weeks,” Wilson said. “(Kalimuendo) comes with great excitement and energy, and we want to see it on the pitch.”
